Teixeira, Yanks Hold of A's

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Mark Teixeira drove in all 3 runs, including a 2-run monster shot to leftfield to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead. Howver, the A's chipped back and scored 2 more runs tomake it 3-2. With zero outs and 2 on in the eighth Phil Hughes worked out of a jam which was the turning point in the game. He was able to get a double play and a fly out to end the threat and Mo came in to close out the game. They Yankees are now 76-45 and have the day off today. Tommorow they start a 3-game series against the Red Sox at Fenway.

I'm back at school right now so it's going to be hard for me to get stuff posted as I;m settling in, but hopefully Jim has a Michael Kaysim post since today is an off-day.
