Yanks Meet the Pres

Monday, April 26, 2010

Today the Yankee made their visit to the White House to meet President Barack Obama for a ceremony on winning their 27th World Series title. Obama gave a six and a half minute speech, and mentioned Jeter, Rivera, Teixeira, and Posada specifically in his speech, including that Jeter "epitomizes the beat of the Yankees tradition."

In other baseball news, Ryan Howard signed a monster contract extension for 5 years and $125 million. The only player who will be making a larger annual salary is Alex Rodriguez, who is making $27.5 mil a year in a 10 year contract. Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols must have immediately called their agents after this news broke.

No game today, if any big news breaks we'll have it as soon as we can. Otherwise, we'll be back at it tomorrow when the Yanks host the lowly Orioles who are making our preseason predictions look abysmal right now. Only a matter of time before Dave Trembley loses his job.
