Wanted: 8th Inning Guy

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Joba gives up a grand slam in a 1-0 game where Javier Vazquez pitched brilliantly in a pitcher's duel with Felix Hernandez. But thanks to Joba, King Felix goes the distance and pitches another complete game victory to beat the Yankees, striking out the side (with some help from the umpire) in the ninth inning.

Who should be out 8th inning guy? Because this guy aint working.

Who has a higher trade value joba or dontrelle?

Both pitchers have been huge disapointments after promising starts to each of their careers. Being that Dontrelle Willis' agent says he needs a break from the game, at least Joba's head is still in the right place. Neither one's trade value is very high, but right now I'd say Joba b/c he's younger and has more time to correct himself. Willis has been a mess over the last few years while Joba stil lshows flashes of gretness. But his value has dropped over the last two years. In retrospect, you could say the Yankees should have traded Joba around the 08 season when his value was highest.
