Yanks Run this Town

The radio station, Z100, in New York created a parody of the song Run this Town from Jay-Z's

newest album Blueprint 3 that changes the lyrics to talk about the Yankees. I remember the station doing this with Daft Punk's One More Time back in 2000 or 2001 and adjusting Matchbox Twenty's How Far We've Come to the Giants Super Bowl win over the Patriots. This time, however, the Yankees have adopted it as their official anthem for the playoffs.
The new chorus goes:

Winning games like it's not fair
The Yankees rule so we don't care
26 World Series rings
Time to pop some more champagne
Victory's within the mile
Almost there, don't give up now
Only thing that's on my mind
The Yanks gonna run this town tonight

While they say it won't be released until after the playoffs are over, there is a YouTube video out:

Jay-Z gets a lot of play around Yankee Stadium, as Derek Jeter's intro music is Empire State of Mind, while A-Rod comes out to Already Home.

I think you can hear the song on the radio during the "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show," that is if you want to hear "Party in the USA" 100 times in 3.5 hours. And, no, I'm not going to link to it. If you want to listen to that, I respectfully ask that you stop reading this blog. (I'm just kidding, but really, how many times is enough for that song?)

And I just want to draw attention to the fact that I used "Run this Town" as one of my song title headlines over a month ago, so I think I should get some of the credit. No?

In actual baseball news:
  • CC Sabathia is confirmed to be the Game 4 starter. In other breaking news, the sky is blue.
  • There's a report out there that free-agent-to-be Matt Holliday prefers New York, with the Yankees as his first choice and the Mets as his second. The Mets will probably go hard after him to try and rebound after this horrible year, but we all know that if the Yanks want to pay for him, they will.
  • The Phils are currently leading the Dodgers 8-0 so unless the collapse, they'll go up 2-1 in that series.
There might be a little trouble getting a Game Post up for tomorrow, because classes continue to get in the way of the important things in life. But we will do our best.

SEE YA!

UPDATE 10:50: I cannot believe I almost forgetting to mention this monstrosity from the 200 Mets. Bad blogging on my part.
