Walk Off Warriors Strike Again

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

This time it was Juan Miranda who got pied. With two outs and the game tied in the ninth, Miranda singled off our old friend Kyle Farnsworthless's leg, scoring Eric Hinske to win the game. David Robertson pitched .2 of an inning striking out a batter, getting ready and healthy for the postseason. A.J. Burnett also showed he is getting ready for the postseason as well, pitching his fourth consecutive solid start, going 6.1 innings while striking out eight. Mark Teixeira tied Carlos Pena for the AL home run lead with his 39th home run and Nick Swisher added his 28th home run of the season. It was the teams 102nd win and 15th walk off of the season. Their secondmost since 1943 when the Yankees had 17 walk-offs.

This team is ready for the playoffs. It's just a matter of finding out who we are going to play. Tigers still lead the Twins by 2 games after splitting a doubleheader yesterday.
