Yankees 10 10 1
Blue Jays 5 6 1

WP: Aceves (10-1)
LP: Romero (11-7)

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Hip, hip, JORGE! For the second time in 3 nights, the catcher is the winner of the championship belt. Going 4-5 with 4 RBI's will do that for a player. In the past month, Posada has raised his batting average by 10 points.

PLAY OF THE GAME: A-Rod's home run in the 9th inning. The left fielder didn't even have a chance to move. You could have hung laundry on that drive.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME: The 3-run single/error by Hideki Matsui in the first inning.

GAME NOTES:

  • Aceves picked up his 10th win despite working primarily out of the bullpen.
  • Magic Number= 22
  • The Yankees have outscored their opponents 47-14 during their 6 game win streak.
  • Posada's home run gave him 20 on the season, giving the Yankees 7 players on the team with 20 home runs, which is the most in the major leagues.
TOMORROW:
Yankees at Blue Jays
Chamberlain vs. Halladay
