Rays 3 6 1
Yankees 4 6 1

WP: Aceves (4-1)
LP: Balfour (2-1)
S: Rivera (13)

A FEW THOUGHTS FROM ATTENDING THE GAME:
It was HOT during that game. I think the gametime temperature was 77, but with the humidity it felt like 90. The game had very little action early on (other than Swisher's homerun). This (and probably the heat) led to a very quiet crowd early on. But when the Yankees got things going in the 8th, the place was loud and there were moments when everyone got on their feet to cheer. I am slowly adjusting to the Stadium, and after being there a second time it is starting to feel more like home. Also, some of the ushers seem like they have nothing better to do than to look for a reason to yell at fans. During the 9th inning the usher of my section was telling people to step down from the bench...yeah, maybe it's a safety issue, but it was the last inning, the game was basically over. And maybe I shouldn't have told J.P. Howell that he sucks during BP, but apparently you cannot say that either. (The usher did tell me I could say he is terrible). All in all, it was a fun trip, and more importantly, a Yankee victory.

Now on to the game:
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Mariano Rivera. Rivera came back after blowing a tie game yesterday to retire the Rays on 10 pitches, including a strikout. Rivera also got a chance to face Longoria, which I believe was an at-bat Rivera wanted to get some revenge on, and he did.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Melky Cabrera's diving catch in the sixth inning. With two runners on and one out, Cabrera saved what would have easily been a 2RBI double, making the Rays lead 4-1. Instead he kept the deficit at 2-1 (momentarily) and got two outs in the inning.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME: A-Rod and Cano's walks. With runners on first and third one out, A-Rod worked a walk to load the bases. Cano followed with another walk, bringing the score to 3-2, and the Yankees (or Rays lack of defense) took care of the rest.

Tommorow:
