Game 56: Rays at Yankees

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Yankees (32-23)
Jeter SS
Damon LF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Cano 2B
Posada C
Matsui DH
Swisher RF
Cabrera CF

Pitching: RHP Joba Chamberlain (3-1, 3.71).

RAYS (29-28)
Lineup has not been posted as of 10:10 a.m.

Pitching: RHP Matt Garza (4-4, 3.67).

BOUNCE BACK: The Yankees need to put yesterday's game behind them and move on. We're a little spoiled with Rivera, and when he pitches poorly, we get a little too overexcited.

JOBA RULES: We'll see how well Joba does after going 8 innings and giving up only four hits and two runs. Back-to-back good starts may quiet the Joba-to-the-bullpen crowd for a long while.

SERIE-OUS BUSINESS: The Yankees need to win today and tomorrow to avoid losing their first series since the Phillies series.

NOTE ON TODAY'S COVERAGE: John is at the game, and I have to work, because the blogging business does not bring in any money for me, so there will not be any in-game updates. Whoever gets home first will write a game recap. Unfortunately for me, that will probably be John.

SEE YA! ENJOY THE GAME!
