Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Cano 2B
Posada C
Matsui DH
Cabrera RF
Gardner CF

Young 3B
Blalock DH
Cruz RF
Murphy LF
Byrd CF
Davis 1B
Saltalamacchia C
Andrus SS
Pitching: RHP Vicente Padilla (3-2, 4.71).

The Yankees lead the current season series 2-1.
Home Sweet Home: The Yankees return home where they are 14-9 after going 5-2 on their road trip.
Gold Glove Defense: The Yankees enter today’s game with a major-league record 18 consecutive games without committing an error.
They Meet Again: AJ Burnett faces the Texas Rangers for his second consecutive start. In his previous outing he went 6 IP 3 hits 4 walks, 0 ER, and 7 K’s.
Home Run Derby: The Texas Rangers currently lead the majors with 83 home runs and the New York Yankees are second with 80 home runs. The New Yankee Stadium has yielded 87 home runs this year, the most of any ballpark in the majors.
Another Jeter Milestone: Derek Jeter needs one more run to get his 1,500 run scored of his career. He will become only the fourth active player with 1,500 runs and fourth in Yankees history.

UPDATE 6:39: The Rangers will reportedly place Josh Hamilton on the Disabled List, where he could miss up to two months with a groin strain.

UPDATE 8:53 P.M: We apologize for the lack of updates, but Hideki Matsui just drilled a 3-run homer into right-center to give the Yankees a 9-3 lead in the bottom of the 4th.

UPDATE 9:05: Well, it's been a very news-worthy couple of innings here. Posada's throw into centerfield ends the errorless streak, Tex gets hit for the second time today, Jeter scores his 1,500th career run, and Burnett knocks Cruz down to send a message. Burnett's at 88 pitches now through five, so he's got one inning, two at the most, left in him.

UPDATE 9:23: Jorge Posada hits a 3-run homer into the second deck. 12-3 Yankees bottom of the 6th. I think this is a safe enough lead for a Jose Veras appearance.

UPDATE 9:52: Interesting how Girardi pulled Teixiera while he was 0 for 2 on the game, thus ending his 14 game hit streak. I wonder if Girardi just did not realize, or just said that the couple of innings off was more important.

UPDATE 10:08: It seems like more people are getting hit with flying objects than usual tonight. Two bats and two people struck with foul balls. You would think that they would find some of those empty seats.
